Long-Term Benefits of Creating Healthy Habits

The long-term benefits of creating healthy habits can span a lifetime, especially for our children. They also get passed down to our children, if we put in the effort and time. It is my belief that as parents it is our responsibility to give them the tools they need to succeed in life.

As my daughters get older I see myself slipping into bad habits, not implementing the things I used to do before kids. Could it be that life is busier, more stressed out, or the to-do list is just too long? It’s all of those things and I think for most mom’s out there we feel burnt out leaving us with no energy to take care of ourselves.

Lately, I’m losing my struggle, my positivity, and ultimately not being the best version of me possible. I’ve struggled with depression all my life, gaining a few pounds doesn’t help and I’m not working out regularly right now which has always been my therapy.

When we don’t take care of ourselves the results are always negative. I always start with negative self-talk, then my confidence goes down, and I always feel like I need to go on a diet.
It is for this reason I want to document my journey, tell my story, and reveal the truth behind the challenges.

The long-term benefits of creating healthy habits get passed on to our children. Teaching them healthy habits when they are young will help them throughout their entire life.

What Happened On Day 1

You know that feeling of gusto you get before you start something new? You’ve probably said it to yourself a dozen times, “My diet starts on Monday.” You’re never more motivated than at the start of a diet or a workout program. Herein lies the problem, what do you do when your motivation is gone?

With the launch of my blog, I thought this could be a great place to document the journey. I’m the mom of two active girls, juggling my career, family life, and running Aloha Beautiful on the side but always struggle with having a positive self-body image. And so…..

I’m excited to formulate a plan, make changes, but more importantly execute the plan. I’ve put hundreds of diet plans together for clients and I can tell you execution is by far the hardest part. This is why I want to share my journey, I want to share how I get through the struggles and face my personal challenges.

Things Did Not Go As Planned

The night before Day 1 and I have my workout & diet plan, I feel ready to go and guess what? The first challenge came up in the middle of the night, seriously! It happened that fast but that’s how life works, things don’t get put on hold because of your diet.

Life had different plans the night before, my daughter woke up in the middle of the night from a nightmare. She thought spiders were in her bed, woke up in tears and all she wanted was her mommy.

I did not get up at 5 am like I had planned and half the other things I wrote down didn’t happen either. What did end up happening is me staying in bed until seven, jumping in the shower for a few minutes, and throwing a hat on before I sat down to work.

It’s not even 8 am and I’m struggling! It was time for me to make a decision. I sat down at my computer, drank some coffee, and decided to focus on what I could accomplish. That decision led to my workout over lunch and a feeling of accomplishment.

Moving Forward…

Tonight, the plan is to be prepared but also flexible for those unexpected things to come up. Roll with challenges, adapt, and find ways to make it happen anyway. Until the next update, Aloha Beautiful Mamas! P.S. Don’t mind my lip sweat, haha!
